What is the meaning of this!?
We must clean up. Nice and tidy. - put in order.
What in order?
Our things.
You wish to claim ownership?
Nothing of the sort.
Then what?
I mean to create anew.
By replacing the old?
Certainly not!
Then what?
I shall remove it all
Are you mad?
Partially perhaps, not wholly.
Ah, so you wish to invoke.
Invoke what?
The wholly
Good God, no!
Then why?
But didn't I say already...
I wish to tidy.

The Shadow Knows
03:16
|
|||
Black smoke risin'
Finger tips and toes
In and out a horoscope
Can't see the way the wind blows
Gonna paint the Mona Lisa
Can't find my soul
Stuck beneath a tombstone
In the earth earth and bone
Who knows what evil lies within?
The shadow knows
Sun sinks in the west
Tears rain in the east
Eyes fixed on the horizon
Cradlin' the beast
Mojo risin' low
Lover recently deceased
Croached in the alleyway
Hiding from disease
Who knows what evil lies within?
The shadow knows
River runs blood red
Snake skin begins to shed
Got Jesus for an outlaw
And Judas in my bed
Smokestack lightning
Stack 'em up before you drown
If you wanna get to heaven
Gotta burn the house down
Who knows what evil lies within?
The shadow knows
Picket fence and pitch forks
Fight the rabble and the mob
You ain't got a song to sing
If you don't know the devil's chord
No one's gonna hear you
When you shout and squeal
Worked my fingers to the bone
Never made a good deal
Who knows what evil lies within?
The shadow knows

Sailors on the River
04:00
|
|||
Mystery avenue,
Splits your heart like glue
I'll trade my money for wine
just to open my mind to you
Lost fortune and fate
I'd rather have it cheap than fake
Take your pearls and curls
And the pretty dancing girls
With the little highs
And the heavy lows
Oh I'm down with you
In the avenue
And I do, when I'm blue
Think about you in the evening
Think about you in the morning
When I'm on the run
There's no on my boat
I don't need your gypsy sails
I heard about the words you wrote, and I quote
There are no sailors on the river
Nursery rhymes and chimes
And the jingle bell lights
The twinkly city signs
Higher than the darkest of starry nights
It's only pantomime and padgontry
You don't believe in God
They say you've lost your faith
In the little highs
And the heavy lows
Oh I'm down with you
In the avenues
And I do, when I'm blue
Think about you in the evening
Think about you in the morning
When I'm on the run
There's no on my boat
I don't need your gypsy sails
I heard about the words you wrote, and I quote
There are no sailors on the river

The Shew Stone
04:53
|
|||
Shapes in the mind
Figures outer time
Darkness in the void
Sigmund Freud
Cigarettes in the road
Black coffee moan
Goin' down to see the
Shew stone
Shew stone
What you ever gonna know about it
About the man who came to stay
When will you never wrap your words around it
All the voices who come to play
Maybe, there's something new to say today
A signal in the brain
A track for a train
Build the city wall
Gotta rise and fall
A savage looms
Beyond the gates and moon
Got to peer into
The Shew stone
Shew stone
What you ever gonna know about it
About the man who came to stay
When will you never wrap your words around it
All the voices who came to play
Maybe, something new to say today

Nothing lasts that long
03:31
|
|||
Shadows crawl across the floor in the morning sun
Silhouettes turn a shade of green before the days been done
It's a very strange game we play but anyway what of it
Watching the wind roll in with rainy eyes
Walking down the same old streets with snake-skin boots
It takes a heavy rain to wash the blood away
But only thunder to break the pain
There ain't no need to tell you
About the beasts at the ball
You don't need another yes man
Or a crutch to break the fall
Why do you stand and stare in awe
Nothing lasts that long
The sky burns red in a foreign land
My heart skips a beat every time I hold your hand
Please tell me where it is you like to dance
If there's one thing I know it's that you can't always go
And meet everyone at their demands
Playing chess with ivory bones
Trading all your (k)nights in for porn(s)
It takes a heavy load to break your back in the road
But only a flower to lose your soul
The ain't no need to tell you
About the fire and the rain
You don't need a prescription
Or doctor for the pain
Why do you laugh and stare in scorn
Nothing lasts that long

With you
02:52
|
|||
Wonderin'
What you know
What you hold
Fallin' down
'an out
With you
With you
With you
No one
Talk about
Think around
Listen to
I'm in
With you
With you
With you
No where
Say you are
To care
Gonna stay
With you
With you
With you
No place
To search for
To score
Want anymore
With you
I'm in
With you
With you

Power 'is' the Control of meaning
Freedom 'is' the Creation of meaning
Madness 'is' the Destruction of meaning
If to chase a dream
Wish to dance on the ceiling
Or enter the kingdom
And seek freedom
Not merely in part but in meaning
Powerful and mad you must be
And so it is inversely of all the three
This much can be seen:
What is the mad man 'to do'?
Learn to, create and control
And what of the free?
Learn to, control and destroy
What is the powerful person to do?
Learn to, create and destroy
But what of the boy?
Let him play with his toys.

There is a reverie in destruction
Her name is seduction
Addiction is the revelry in her cushion
How not to be with addiction
And nestle in her bosom;
How not to revel in destruction?
Face her reverence;
How not to revel?
You must revel!
Don't be 'in' be of
Don't be sucked or absorbed
Be free
Be unity

You can reduce the world to formula
But if you do, you'll become a numb-bore
Mathematics is a mode; therefore
It Is a way to be and see
Don't look blindly to architects of number
With their signs, symbols and tools
They know not where or why or for
They make models and theatre
And units of measure
Then claim to discover
Such things are not in store
Or a graph for keeping score:
There are many tunnels, caves and corridors
To which there is much in store

What is death
Or to be born
Or better yet
To grab the horn
What is life
Is it mere
And largely of fear
Is death the road
And the road we fear
But what of the road
That we hold so dear
Fear of letting go
Thrown too cavalier
Ah, but of course
As in remorse
Or as the crow flies
So as she dies
It is overtly shown
Of how she may go:
The forest is obstacle
The foreign familiar
Yet to be seen
Yet to be known

We don't listen to music anymore
We listen to song
Don't go anymore
Except where we belong
But I know a Gym
Called Whisky and Gin
A full deck only
The Big man 'll
Let you in
There is no end
Or place to begin
Or even win
Only a whole glass
Half full of Slim
And a friendly soul
Who no doubt you'll
Know not at all
But let's call him Jim
For he wears a grin.

Which way does the sun go
Does it rise or fall, sink or set
Is it big or small, round or oval
Does it revolve or spiral
If so, on whose stage does it show
How would we know
Does it roll necessary to law
Or explore contingently
Or go cyclically or linearly
Certain or casually
Does it flow inward or outwardly
Einstein only or Newtonianally
Do we see 'it', if so
Is it absolute or relatively
And how does it go
Fast or slow
Vast, grand, gradual or shallow
Is it angry or mellow
Does it huff, puff, bellow or blow
To which name is it known
And is he furnace and flame
Or she pleasure and pain
To which land is it lain
Earth, wind, fire and rain
Or heavenly plane
And from whose hill
Can the best vantage be gained
Is it absurdity or dismay
For what can we say
One way or tay
If before the veil
Or left with the gale
In number or trail
It is beyond the sail
That the curtain has fell
